O lutador baiano Dony Terrier Matos conquistou na madrugada de sábado (10) para domingo (11), a maior vitória da carreira. Diante do experiente lutador paulista Wilson Reis (ex-UFC), o baiano precisou apenas de 16 segundos para pôr fim ao combate e garantir mais uma conquista. Coube o Bodo Sento Championships (BSC) ser o palco deste grande feito.
Wilson Reis e Dony Terrier fizeram a co-luta principal da segunda edição do BSC, na Cidade do México. O evento teve início às 21h (horário de Brasília) do sábado (10). Com um cruzado de direita preciso Dony levou Wilson Reis a nocaute aos 16 segundos, do primeiro round, impactando a todos pela performance. O atleta paulista ainda tentou questionar com a arbitragem sua possibilidade de voltar ao combate após o golpe, porém buscando preservar sua integridade física, o árbitro interrompeu o duelo.
Dony é natural de Serrinha e faz parte da equipe Killer Bees e é treinado pelo experiente Tony Geleia. Em entrevista exclusiva a reportagem do jornal Folha do Estado, Dony Terrier contou a respeito da grande conquista. “Foi uma sensação incrível, uma mistura de felicidade com o sentimento de ser imbatível, de saber que tudo deu certo. Venci um adversário de muita qualidade que era o favorito na luta, então essa vitória só nos faz entender que estamos no caminho certo. Ou seja, é uma coisa inexplicável”.
Com relação ao futuro Dony Terrier disse que agora prefere voltar para casa e rever a família e os amigos. “Meus planos no momento é voltar para casa e dividir essa alegria com todos. Agora é aguardar para ver o que Deus tem reservado para minha vida e minha carreira. Com certeza depois desse resultado positivo as portas irão se abrir, com fé em Deus”.
Dony Terrier aproveitou para agradecer aos amigos e principalmente o apoio recebido pelo departamento de jornalismo esportivo do jornal Folha do Estado. “Essa vitória eu dedico à minha família, aos amigos, e ao jornal Folha do Estado, que tem sido um canal de divulgação dos atletas de artes marciais, e em particular a atenção dada ao meu trabalho. Não posso esquecer da galera do Geral Fight que também tem sido um elo de ligação entre todos os atletas que praticam o MMA. Sem o apoio desses veículos de comunicação seria impossível chegar aonde chegamos e com certeza vamos chegar ainda mais longe”, finalizou.
