Em nota oficial divulgada na noite de ontem (16), o clube anunciou que o profissional está indo para o Al-Shabab, da Arábia Saudita, que é treinado pelo baiano Péricles Chamusca. “Quero agradecer ao Bahia, em nome do presidente Guilherme Bellintani, do vice-presidente Vitor Ferraz e do diretor de futebol da época, Diego Cerri, por terem me aberto as portas lá em 2018 e me concedido a chance de trabalhar em um clube gigante. Vesti a camisa tricolor e me dediquei 100%. Foram três anos e meio de entrega e muito aprendizado. O clube hoje se encontra muito estruturado, com uma comissão fixa de excelência, a qual fiz parte com muito orgulho. Saio daqui e, aonde for, estarei sempre vibrando e comemorando o sucesso do Esquadrão de Aço”, escreveu o profissional, que chegou ao clube em 2018 e chegou a assumir o time principal após saídas de Guto Ferreira, Enderson Moreira e Roger Machado.
Além do time principal, Prates trabalhou no comando do time de transição. A última delas aconteceu no Campeonato Baiano neste ano. O time tricolor acabou sendo eliminado nas semifinais contra o Bahia de Feira. No estadual, foram cinco vitórias, três empates e três derrotas.
