A Confederação Brasileira de Voleibol e os clubes participantes da Superliga Masculino se reuniram por videoconferência na manhã desta segunda-feira e definiram, após votação apertada, pela proposta de encerrar a temporada 2019/2020 em virtude da pandemia da COVID-19.
A votação foi acirrada, com oito votos a favor e cinco contra. Votaram pelo fim da competição os seguintes clubes: Campinas (SP), Taubaté (SP), Ribeirão Preto (SP), Itapetininga (SP), Caramuru Vôlei (PR), Maringá Vôlei (PR) e Sesc RJ, além da Comissão de Atletas, representada pelo presidente Raphael Oliveira. Votaram pela continuidade da Superliga Cruzeiro (MG), Minas (MG), América Vôlei (MG), Blumenau (SC) e Sesi-SP.
– O cenário no esporte brasileiro é preocupante neste momento de pandemia. Temos que continuar trabalhando juntos no sentido de continuidade da nossa modalidade. O melhor a ser feito agora é encerrar todas as atividades e cuidar da saúde dos nossos atletas e de todos os envolvidos na competição – disse o Superintendente de competições de quadra da CBV, Renato D’Avila.
