O Vasco da Gama definiu, nesta terça-feira (20/07), seu novo técnico para a sequência da temporada de 2021. Mais conhecido como Lisca, Luiz Carlos Cirne Lima de Lorenzi, de 48 anos, chega ao Gigante da Colina ao lado do auxiliar técnico Márcio Hahn para liderar o projeto de retorno à Série A do Campeonato Brasileiro. O contrato assinado é válido até o final deste ano.
Lisca iniciou sua trajetória como treinador nas categorias de base do Internacional, em 1990, e passou por São Paulo, Grêmio e Fluminense antes de iniciar sua carreira no profissional, em 2007, pelo Brasil de Pelotas. O gaúcho de Porto Alegre ganhou notoriedade após trabalhos de sucesso em clubes do Nordeste, especialmente no Ceará. No Sul do país, o novo técnico cruzmaltino se destacou em 2013 ao conseguir o acesso à Série C com o Juventude.
Dois anos depois, em 2015, Lisca assumiu o Ceará na zona de rebaixamento da Série B e liderou uma grande reação, salvando o clube de uma queda à terceira divisão nacional que era dada como certa. Já em 2018, em sua segunda passagem, Lisca também fez o time reverter uma sequência ruim e deixar a zona de rebaixamento na Série A, mantendo o clube na primeira divisão ao fim da competição.
Seu último trabalho foi no América Mineiro, entre as temporadas de 2020 e 2021. Em 16 meses à frente do Coelho, Lisca alcançou resultados expressivos. Com ele, o time mineiro fez sua melhor campanha de sua história na Copa do Brasil (foi semifinalista na edição 2020), conquistou o acesso à Série A de 2021 e se sagrou vice-campeão do Campeonato Mineiro neste ano.
