O ex-jogador da NBA Paul Pierce foi preso nos Estados Unidos, suspeito de dirigir embriagado e se envolver em um acidente em Los Angeles, segundo informações da imprensa americana.
Ao investigar um acidente com vários veículos envolvidos, os policiais encontraram Pierce dormindo no carro, estacionado no acostamento próximo ao local da batida.
Quando a equipe policial se aproximou, encontrou Pierce, que demonstrava sinais de embriaguez. O acidente aconteceu na Lankershim Boulevard, uma importante via da Califórnia, com 12km de extensão.
Após observar os sinais de embriaguez, os policiais conduziram Pierce à delegacia central de Los Angeles.
Paul Pierce atuou por 19 temporadas na NBA, sendo 15 no Boston Celtics. Também passou por Brooklyn Nets e Washington Wizards, se aposentando no Los Angeles Clippers, time da cidade onde se envolveu no acidente.
Pierce conquistou o título da NBA em 2008 e esteve em 10 All-Star Games durante a carreira.
