Argentina e Colômbia se enfrentam na noite desta terça-feira, às 22h (de Brasília), no estádio Mané Garrincha, em Brasília, pela semifinal da Copa América.
O vencedor enfrentar o Brasil na decisão marcada para o próximo sábado, no Maracanã. Já o derrotado ainda voltará a campo, mas na sexta, novamente no estádio de Brasília, para disputar o terceiro lugar do torneio contra o Peru.
Argentina e Colômbia eram as sedes originais da Copa América, primeiro prevista para 2020 e adiada por causa da pandemia de Covid-19. Neste ano, protestos populares contra uma alteração tributária fizeram com que a Colômbia abrisse mão da competição; em seguida, a Argentina também desistiu, motivada pela alta nos casos de Covid.
Em campo, a Argentina liderou o Grupo A com três vitórias e um empate comandada, como se imaginava, por Lionel Messi, artilheiro do campeonato com quatro gols. Nas quartas de final, passou pelo Equador com um contundente 3 a 0.
A Colômbia teve mais dificuldades. O time de Reinaldo Rueda venceu só um jogo até agora, o Equador, por 1 a 0, na estreia. Depois empatou com a Venezuela e perdeu para o Peru e o Brasil. Nas quartas, avançou nos pênaltis após empate sem gols com o Uruguai.
A Argentina tentará nesta noite alcançar sua quinta final de Copa América nas últimas sete edições – ficou fora da decisão em 2011, quando sediou a competição, e em 2019, no Brasil.
O feito, porém, só aumenta a decepção da seleção, que não só não venceu nenhuma dessas finais como não conquista um título desde 1993, quando levou a Copa América no Equador.
Scaloni deve manter em campo a base da equipe que venceu o Equador por 3 a 0 nas quartas de final. Uma dúvida está na defesa: Cristian Romero pode voltar ao time a depender da evolução de uma lesão no joelho – Pezzella foi titular na última sexta.
No meio, De Paul e Lo Celso são donos da posição, mas Paredes disputa lugar com Guido Rodríguez. Nicolás Gonzalez deve ser o quarto homem do setor. No ataque, Messi e Lautaro Martínez serão titulares.
A Colômbia não joga uma final de Copa América desde 2001, quando disputou o torneio em casa e venceu sua única taça na história.
