Após se tornar o maior artilheiro da história do Bahia, na Série A, o atacante Gilberto está perto de mais um feito grandioso. Autor de um dos gols na vitória por 2 a 0 sobre a Chapecoense, no último domingo, o camisa 9 chegou a 38 gols na competição pelo Bahia e está a um gol de se tornar o maior artilheiro por um clube do Nordeste, na Primeira Divisão.
Os dados são do blog do Cassio Zirpoli, que consideram o período a partir de 1971, após unificação da da Taça Brasil e do Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa. Gilberto está no Bahia desde 2018 e, com 38 gols marcados na Série A pelo Tricolor, igualou Diego Souza, que atuou pelo Sport entre 2014 e 2017 e até então era o vice-artilheiro isolado do Nordeste. O atacante do Bahia está atrás apenas de Ramón, que jogou pelo Santa Cruz de 1971 a 1975, e balançou as redes 39 vezes.

Ramón (Santa Cruz, 1971-1975) – 39 gols
Diego Souza (Sport, 2014-2017) e Gilberto (Bahia, 2018-2021) – 38 gols
Nunes (Santa Cruz, 1975-1978) – 37 gols
Allan Delon (Vitória, 2000-2004) – 36 gols
Ao todo, Gilberto tem 160 jogos realizados pelo Bahia e 75 gols marcados. Recentemente, ele chegou ao top-20 de maiores artilheiros da história do clube. O atacante, porém, tem contrato até o final da temporada e não definiu se vai permanecer em 2022.
