O Conselho Deliberativo rubro-negro aprovou, na noite desta quinta-feira (11), a venda de 15% dos direitos de transmissão de TV do clube para investidores da LFU (Liga Forte União) pelos próximos 45 anos — a partir de 2029— em troca de um aporte imediato de R$ 68 milhões e da entrada do Rubro-Negro no bloco de clubes da LFU a partir de 2025.
90 conselheiros participaram da votação, que contou ainda com a presença de representantes da LFU e dos investidores, além dos principais dirigentes rubro-negros. Ao final das explanações acerca da proposta, as falas foram abertas para os conselheiros, e a votação ocorreu de forma nominal: 54 conselheiros votaram a favor, 36 se posicionaram contra e 2 se abstiveram.
A venda dos direitos de transmissão era condição para o Leão entrar na LFU. A proposta foi feita por Fábio Mota, na condição de presidente do Conselho Gestor, e previamente aprovada pelo Conselho Fiscal, presidido por Raimundo Viana, pois saindo da Libra (Liga do Futebol Brasileiro) e entrando no bloco de clubes da LFU, o Leão passará a receber R$ 166 milhões por ano, 35% a mais que os R$ 123 milhões anuais do contrato da Libra.
Mota também destacou as dívidas herdadas de gestões anteriores. Ao assumir o clube em 2022, o passivo era de R$ 361,4 milhões, reduzido após negociações para R$ 274,9 milhões, dos quais R$ 99,7 milhões já foram pagos. Ainda restam R$ 203,4 milhões, com pagamentos mensais de R$ 4,1 milhões, parcialmente cobertos pelo aporte da LFU e pela venda dos direitos de transmissão.
