Ana Marcela Cunha voltou a fazer bonito nesta quarta-feira (7). No Mundial de Esportes Aquáticos em Doha, no Catar, a baiana levou o bronze na prova dos 5 km, com 57min36s80. Essa foi a 17ª medalha de Ana em Mundiais e o 8º Mundial seguido em que a atleta brasileira chega no pódio. Ela ficou a menos de 3 segundos do ouro; A prova foi vencida pela holandesa Sharon Van Rouwendaal com 57min33s90, e a prata foi para a australiana Chelsea Gubecka 57min35s00. A outra brasileira nos 5km, Viviane Junglubut, terminou na nona posição, com 57min52s90.
Na prova masculina dos 5km, Henrique Figueirinha terminou em 29ª, com 53min50s80. Pedro Farias completou em 54min16s60 e ficou em 35º. Os franceses Logan Fontaine e Marc-Antoine Olivier conquistaram ouro e prata, respectivamente. O bronze foi para o italiano Domenico Acerenza.
O Brasil também participou da final sincronizada do trampolim de três metros, nos saltos ornamentais. A dupla formada por Luana Lira e Anna Santos encerrou na 13ª posição. O pódio foi formado por China (ouro), Austrália (prata) e Grã-Bretanha (bronze).
“Sabia que eu não podia chegar na Sharon, aguardei o momento, fiquei junto com a espanhola (Maria de Valdes) no final. Quando entrei nos últimos 50 metros, coloquei o pé e nem sei de onde veio a força. Me desvencilhei um pouquinho, vim pro lado da australiana para conseguir bater na frente. Tive um pouco de dificuldade de aceleração. Pensei que não tinha como ganhar, mas tinha que garantir medalha. Ceu certo. Com dor a gente já está, né? Mas os 25km doem muito mais.”, relatou a nadadora.
Na última sexta-feira (2), Ana nadou os 10km (distância olímpica), e terminou em quarto, garantindo a classificação aos Jogos de Paris 2024. Lembrando que ela integra o livro dos recordes como a maior vencedora do Circuito Mundial na prova de 10km, com 20 vitórias.
