O Hospital Geral Clériston Andrade (HGCA) promoveu no último domingo (07) a I Corrida Feirense de Prevenção ao Acidente Vascular Cerebral (AVC). O evento foi realizado na Av. Nóide Cerqueira, e contou com a participação de mais de 200 pessoas. A ideia é que a corrida se torne um evento anual a ser realizado na semana mundial de prevenção a AVC. De janeiro a agosto deste ano, 597 pacientes de Feira de Santana e região foram atendidos no HGCA, maior hospital público do interior da Bahia.
De acordo com médica neurologista, Renata Nunes, a corrida superou as expectativas em relação a participação e organização. “Foi muito emocionante ver aquele mar de azul na avenida Nóide Cerqueira com aquelas pessoas que já foram vítimas do AVC vivendo aquele momento tão importante e tão marcante na vida deles, fiquei muito emocionada e essa emoção foi compartilhada por outras pessoas que estavam ali. Se faz necessário compreender que quando a gente fala de AVC, estamos falando de prevenção, tratamento, mas também de reabilitação por se tratar de um tratamento extremamente significativo. Eu tenho certeza que a corrida passa a ser parte do calendário esportivo anual da cidade e nos próximos anos ela acontecerá de forma mais abrangente, com mais participantes e Feira de Santana vai ter esta atividade como parte de sua rotina”, afirmou.
