O basquete máster de Feira de Santana voltou a abrilhantar em nível nordestino. No último fim de semana, com encerramento no dia 7 de setembro, no SESI Cambona, em Maceió, a equipe Sonics Basquete Master confirmou o seu tetracampeonato da Copa Alagoas, na categoria máster, para 45+.
A base do plantel campeão foi formado por atletas feirenses e reforços vindos de várias outras cidades baianas: Coité, Serrinha, Itaberaba, Santo Antônio de Jesus e Seabra. A conquista veio após vitórias sobre os times de Caruaru, Aracaju e Maceió.
Além do troféu coletivo, o Sonics dominou também as premiações individuais: Frank Cedraz foi o cestinha geral, Waldeck Vaz levou o título de melhor arremessador de 3 pontos e Próspero Veloso foi eleito o melhor jogador da competição.
O torneio foi promovido pela Shamp Sports, em parceria com o Curso de Educação Física do Centro Universitário Mário Pontes Jucá (UMJ) e o Clube de Regatas Brasil (CRB), contando ainda com apoio de instituições esportivas e educacionais de Alagoas.
