O técnico Thiago Carpini foi demitido do Vitória nesta quarta-feira (9). O treinador não resistiu à eliminação da Copa do Nordeste após derrota no Barradão para o Confiança, por 1 a 0. O time sergipano é o atual vice-lanterna da Série C do Campeonato Brasileiro.
A demissão foi anunciada durante uma coletiva nesta tarde, convocada pelo presidente do Leão, Fábio Mota. Marcelo Goiano será o treinador interino e vai cuidar dos treinos, mas Mota garantiu o novo técnico, que ainda não foi anunciado, vai estar no comando do Vitória na próxima partida – sábado, pelo Brasileiro, contra o Internacional.
Desde que assumiu o comando do Vitória em maio do ano passado, após a saída de Léo Condé, Thiago Carpini esteve à frente da equipe em 73 partidas. Seu principal feito foi garantir a permanência do clube na Série A para a temporada 2024, coroada posteriormente com a classificação para a Copa Sul-Americana de 2025.
Apesar do início promissor, a trajetória de Carpini à frente do Leão começou a se desgastar ao longo de 2025, marcada por uma série de eliminações precoces. O time caiu cedo na Copa do Brasil, na Sul-Americana e agora na Copa do Nordeste.
Durante a coletiva, Fábio Mota anunciou também a renovação do volante Ronald por mais dois anos. O jogador estava cotado para ir para o futebol búlgaro.
A proposta da Europa girava em torno de R$ 500 mil, segundo o GloboEsporte, por um contrato válido por três temporadas. Com contrato até então válido até o final dessa temporada com o Vitória, o jogador disputou 29 partidas esse ano, sendo 23 como titular. Ontem, ele não jogou.
