O brasileiro Manoel Messias voltou a conquistar uma medalha de ouro em uma etapa da Copa do Mundo de triatlo. No último domingo (9), o cearense concluiu os 750 metros de natação, os 20 quilômetros de ciclismo e os cinco quilômetros de corrida da prova em 54min52s para garantir a primeira posição na etapa da competição disputada em San Pedro de la Paz (Chile).
Esta conquista veio uma semana após o brasileiro vencer a etapa de Viña del Mar (Chile) da Copa do Mundo. Naquela oportunidade ele completou os 750 metros de natação, os 20 quilômetros de ciclismo e os cinco quilômetros de corrida em 49min38s.
“Mais um fim de semana perfeito para mim aqui no Chile. Duas provas, duas vitórias. O pelotão estava muito grande quando começamos a corrida hoje, mas senti que as pernas estavam boas e comecei a atacar no quilômetro final. Estou muito feliz com os resultados e agora é tentar repetir isso em Florianópolis”, declarou o triatleta de 28 anos.
Esta foi a terceira vitória de Messias na temporada 2025, sendo a terceira no Chile. Além dos títulos em San Pedro de la Paz e em Viña del Mar, ele foi campeão sul-americano em Santiago, em abril. Sem muito tempo para descansar, o triatleta disputa no próximo domingo (16) a etapa brasileira da Copa do Mundo, em Florianópolis. No ano passado, em Brasília, Messias foi campeão do evento, que será realizado de forma inédita na capital catarinense.
