Uma pesquisa feita pelo jornal O Globo em parceria com o Ipec divulgada hoje aponta que Flamengo e Corinthians têm as maiores torcidas do Brasil atualmente. Com 21,8% das respostas, o time carioca aparece na liderança do ranking, enquanto o Timão vem atrás com 15,5%. A margem de erro, segundo a pesquisa, pode ser de 2 pontos para mais ou para menos e o índice de confiança é de 95%.
O estudo mostra que cariocas e paulistas prevalecem entre as cinco primeiras posições. Atrás de Flamengo e Corinthians vêm São Paulo (8,2%), Palmeiras (7,4%) e Vasco (4,2%). Com a margem de erro há um empate técnico na terceira colocação. A primeira equipe fora do eixo RJ-SP a aparecer é o Grêmio, que vem na sexta colocação com 3,2%.
Enquanto Flamengo, Corinthians e Grêmio são líderes em seus estados, o Cruzeiro aparece no topo em Minas Gerais. A Raposa ocupa o sétimo lugar no ranking com 3,1% das respostas, enquanto o Atlético-MG aparece apenas em décimo (2,1%). Na região Nordeste, o Bahia prevalece frente a outros times como Fortaleza, Sport, Vitória, Ceará e Santa Cruz. Ao todo, a equipe tricolor tem a preferência de 1,7% dos entrevistados e aparece acima, inclusive, de Fluminense e Botafogo.
Ao longo da pesquisa que foi feita entre os dias 1 e 5 de julho, 2 mil entrevistas presenciais foram feitas em 126 municípios brasileiros.
