A Polícia Civil de São Paulo prendeu na madrugada desta sexta-feira o ex-jogador Wellington Índio, de 32 anos, que atuava como lateral esquerdo e já passou pelo time B do Palmeiras. Ele foi um dos alvos de uma operação de combate ao tráfico de drogas na capital paulista.
A ação envolveu uma apreensão de 30 tijolos de cocaína e R$ 264 mil em espécie, além de um revólver de calibre 38, na região do Jardins, área nobre de São Paulo. Cinco pessoas foram detidas. O esquema de distribuição de drogas era comandado pela empresária Gilmara Lima Lasclota e funcionava com a utilização de um táxi.
O ex-jogador Wellington Índio portava uma pistola de calibre .40 quando foi abordado. Hoje com 32 anos, ele teve uma carreira sem muito destaque, com uma breve passagem pelo Palmeiras B, sem conseguir se firmar.
