Após mais de 40 anos de trabalho, o comentarista de automobilismo, Reginaldo Leme, deixa a Rede Globo. A decisão partiu do próprio jornalista, que enviou um e-mail para a redação da emissora se despedindo dos colegas. De acordo com o Observatório da Televisão, houve um comum acordo entre Leme e Globo.
Ainda de acordo com a publicação, o jornalista não cogitava deixar a emissora, mas problemas de saúde lhe fizeram tomar a decisão. O contrato dele era válido até o fim de 2020.
Reginaldo Leme formava o trio principal que transmitia às corridas de Fórmula 1, ao lado de Galvão Bueno e Luciano Burti. Ele também produzia e apresentava o Sinal Verde, exibido nas madrugadas de sábado, falando justamente sobre a principal categoria do automobilismo.
Leme começou no jornal O Estado de S. Paulo em 1968, e estava na Globo desde 1977 com transmissão ao vivo no fim de semana. Além do automobilismo, participou de três Copas do Mundo e 2 Olimpíadas.
A emissora ainda não se pronunciou sobre a saída do jornalista.
