O Castelão é o maior estádio de futebol do estado do Ceará, tornando-se uma arena multiuso em 2013. Mas na manhã deste sábado (30), a arena que recebe jogos do Ceará e do Fortaleza sofreu um incêndio após um suposto curto-circuito dentro de uma das cabines de rádio.
O fogo atingiu uma área interna do estádio. A fumaça preta e densa pôde ser observada no entorno do estádio. Até agora não há informações oficiais da motivação do incêndio, mas há um relato de um dos funcionários no qual ele diz que poderia ter sido um curto-circuito.
“Rapidamente a gente viu o fogo e rapidamente a gente saiu para ajudar as pessoas que estavam na parte de serviço lá em cima. Foi muito rápido, muito rápido mesmo. Teve um curto-circuito que rapidamente pegou fogo e a vidraça começou a cair. Alguns meninos que estavam trabalhando com a gente inalaram muita fumaça”, relatou o funcionário Júlio Lima.
Não houve nenhuma vítima fatal no acidente, mas os dois funcionários que inalaram a fumaça receberam atendimento no local. A primeira partida da final do Campeonato Brasileiro Série D na qual o Floresta recebe o Mirassol está prevista para acontecer no Castelão, mas até o momento nenhum órgão se manifestou sobre mudança de estádio.
