A Juazeirense tem uma missão muito complicada na noite desta quinta-feira (5) diante do Santos pela Copa do Brasil. Após ser goleado no primeiro jogo por 4 a 0, o Cancão de Fogo precisa vencer cinco gols de diferença para reverter a situação e avançar às quartas de final do torneio nacional. Se devolver a vitória por quatro tentos a mais, a decisão será nos pênaltis. Para manter os jogadores motivados, o presidente do clube baiano, o deputado estadual Roberto Carlos (PDT), prometeu pagar R$ 1 milhão ao elenco caso consigam a virada histórica.
“Independentemente do resultado, temos escrito nos anais do futebol uma façanha grandiosa que é chegar às oitavas de final. Esperamos que o resultado positivo, se não der para classificar, para pelo menos que possamos nos despedir da competição honrando a Bahia com a vitória. Estamos dando uma premiação muito grande, 1 milhão de reais para os jogadores. Eles sabem que a visibilidade que vai dar para os jogadores é muito grande. Eu acho que é o jogo da vida da Juazeirense”, declarou em entrevista ao Bahia Notícias.
O Cancão de Fogo tem feito uma campanha inédita da Copa do Brasil 2021. A equipe jamais havia chegado às oitavas de final do torneio. No momento, o clube baiano acumula R$ 5,635 milhões em premiação por chegar nesta fase da disputa, enquanto os jogadores já receberam R$ 1,4 milhão de bicho pelos bons resultados em campo.
