Fernando Diniz chega para substituir Ariel Holan, que pediu demissão na semana passada. O Santos vinha sendo comandado pelo auxiliar Marcelo Fernandes. Diniz receberá menos do que o argentino. O acertou entre clube e treinador foi de um ano. Há possibilidade de prorrogar por mais um. Não há multa rescisória no acordo entre Santos e Diniz.
Antes de aceitar a proposta do Santos, Fernando Diniz foi sondado pelo Fortaleza, mas recusou o convite. Pelos lados do Santos, o Peixe ouviu “não” de Guto Ferreira, do Ceará, e Lisca, do América-MG.
O ex-meia surgiu, como técnico, no Osasco Audax e também passou por Athletico-PR e Fluminense. Mas nos grandes clubes não deu certo. Agora, a missão é colocar o Santos nos trilhos. Até mesmo por isso, Fernando Diniz ajudará na contratação de reforços.
