A Inglaterra já tem os 26 jogadores que disputarão a Copa do Mundo de 2026. O técnico Thomas Tuchel divulgou, nesta sexta-feira (22), a lista final da Seleção Inglesa para o Mundial, que será realizado nos Estados Unidos, México e Canadá.
A convocação era uma das mais aguardadas entre as seleções classificadas, principalmente pela expectativa de cortes importantes. A ausência de nomes consolidados se confirmou. Harry Maguire, do Manchester United, Alexander-Arnold, do Real Madrid, Cole Palmer, do Chelsea, e Phil Foden, do Manchester City, ficaram fora da relação final.
Outros nomes como Tomori, Lewis Hall, Morgan Gibbs-White, Adam Wharton, Bowen, Alex Scott e Luke Shaw, que fizeram parte do ciclo, também não retornam ao grupo.
Se por um lado a lista teve ausências de impacto, por outro marcou retornos relevantes. Jordan Henderson, ídolo do Liverpool e atualmente no Brentford, voltou a ser chamado após passagem frustrada pelo futebol da Arábia Saudita. Marcus Rashford também está de volta à Seleção, depois de recuperar espaço com boa passagem pelo Barcelona, onde atuou emprestado pelo Manchester United.
A Inglaterra está no Grupo L da Copa do Mundo, ao lado de Croácia, Gana e Panamá. A estreia será no dia 17 de junho, às 17h, pelo horário de Brasília, contra os croatas. A partida será disputada no AT&T Stadium, em Dallas.
