Em sorteio realizado pela Conmebol, nesta quinta-feira (19), foi confirmado que o representante n° 2 vindo da Bolívia será o adversário do Bahia na segunda fase da competição. De acordo com a tabela do Campeonato Boliviano, este representante é o The Strongest. A tradicional equipe aurinegra chega à Pré-Libertadores não pode mais ser alcançada em sua liga, na qual é vice-líder, restando uma rodada pra terminar o campeonato.
Por ter sido colocado no pote 1 do sorteio, o Bahia ganhou o direito de fazer o jogo de volta dentro de casa, com a Arena Fonte Nova lotada por tricolores.

Além do confronto na segunda fase, o sorteio da Conmebol também mostra o caminho que o Esquadrão precisará fazer para alcançar uma eventual fase de grupos na competição continental.
Caso avance para a terceira fase, o Bahia enfrentará o vencedor do confronto entre Ñublense e Boston River na segunda fase.
Vale destacar que os times eliminados na segunda fase da Pré-Libertadores perdem a chance de disputar competições continentais em 2025.
Já os clubes que alcançarem a terceira fase já se garantem pelo menos na fase de grupos da Sul-americana, caso sejam eliminados. Em caso de classificação, vão para a fase de grupos da Libertadores.
