As seleções brasileiras de vôlei da temporada 2021 – que jogarão a Olimpíada de Tóquio (Japão) – começaram a ser formadas. Os primeiros convocados pelos técnicos José Roberto Guimarães (equipe feminina) e Renan Dal Zotto (masculina) se apresentam já segunda-feira (5), no Centro de Desenvolvimento do Voleibol (CDV), em Saquarema (RJ). Os demais nomes serão anunciados após o término das Superligas.
No time masculino, por enquanto, quatro atletas foram chamados: o levantador Cachopa, o oposto Alan, o central Isac e o ponteiro Rodriguinho, todos do Sada Cruzeiro, que não está mais na disputa da edição 2020/21 da Superliga. Os outros convocados sairão dos quatro semifinalistas (Minas Tênis Clube, Vôlei UM Itapetininga, EMS Taubaté e Vôlei Renata). Renan ainda convidou, para observação, quatro jogadores: o central Leonardo, o oposto Darlan (ambos do Sesi-SP), o líbero Alexandre Elias (Guarulhos) e o ponteiro Maicon (Sada Cruzeiro).
Como a Superliga Feminina já está na final, Zé Roberto poderá iniciar o trabalho com mais jogadoras à disposição. O treinador chamou as centrais Adenízia (Sesi Bauru), Bia e Mayany (ambas do Osasco), as líberos Camila Brait (Osasco) e Nyeme (São Paulo/Barueri), as levantadoras Dani Lins (Sesi Bauru) e Roberta (Osasco), as opostas Tandara (Osasco) e Lorenne (Sesc-RJ/Flamengo), a ponteira/oposta Rosamaria (Casalmaggiore, da Itália) e a ponteira Ana Cristina (Sesc-RJ/Flamengo). Esta última tem somente 16 anos e foi um dos destaques rubro-negros na temporada. O comandante também convidou as centrais Diana e Lorena e a ponteira Karina (todas do São Paulo/Barueri) para os treinos. Minas e Dentil Praia Clube terão as convocadas reveladas após a final.
O primeiro desafio das seleções é a Liga das Nações, que será disputada em sistema de bolha sanitária na cidade de Rimini (Itália). A competição feminina ocorre entre 25 de maio e 20 de junho e a masculina de 28 de maio a 23 de julho. Renan e Zé Roberto aproveitarão a competição para observar atletas e definir os 12 nomes definitivos de cada equipe para os Jogos de Tóquio.
