Depois de levar a melhor na corrida sprint do GP da China no sábado (20), Max Verstappen, na madrugada deste domingo (21) venceu pela primeira vez no Circuito de Shangai (que voltou ao calendário após 5 anos). A 58ª conquista dele teve Lando Norris e Sergio Pérez na segunda e terceira colocações do pódio, respectivamente.
COMO FOI A CORRIDA:
Na largada, Alonso tomou o segundo lugar de Pérez, que recuperou na 5ª volta. Max e Sergio trocaram os pneus médios pelos duros na volta 14, cedendo a liderança e a vice-liderança para Norris e Leclerc, mas na volta 20 o holandês ultrapassou ambos e voltou à ponta, quando Valtteri Bottas teve uma quanta em sua Sauber e abandonou na 21ª volta; a direção de prova acionou o safety car real após o virtual e quase todos voltaram aos boxes, mas Max manteve a ponta.
Alonso relargou em 2° mas foi superado logo por Pérez novamente, e depois por Lando Norris. Aliás, as brigas entre as duplas da Ferrari e McLaren (com Alonso, Pérez e George Russel entrando no bolo) foi interessante durante toda a prova. Em meio a isso, um caos: Kevin Magnussen bateu na roda traseira direita de Yuki Tsunoda e Lance Stroll protagonizou uma pancada na traseira de Daniel Ricciardo, logo na relargada, trazendo de volta o safety car. A corrida foi retomada na volta 32 e, graças à nova intervenção, Norris, Leclerc, Pérez, Alonso e Sainz estavam separados por 1 segundo cada um.
Largando em 18º, Hamilton percorreu um longo caminho até ser 9°. Após cair para 19º na largada e se recuperar, fez seu primeiro pit stop na volta 10. Depois de trocar os macios pelos médios, ele foi beneficiado pelas bandeiras amarelas e ocasionalmente ultrapassou quem estava a sua frente. Já Gasly enfrentou uma situação bizarra. Na troca de pneus, a Alpine o liberou antes de colocar o pneu direito traseiro. O piloto acelerou e acabou atingido um dos mecânicos. Após a corrida, a Alpine foi multada em 10 mil euros (R$ 55,5 mil reais na cotação atual). Gasly terminou na 13ª colocação, e o Ocon foi o 11º, ambos fora dos pontos mais uma vez. O mecânico atingido foi atendido e passa bem.
Ainda deu tempo de Logan Sargeant ser punido com 10s por ultrapassar sob bandeira amarela; Magnussen e Stroll receberam a mesma sanção pelas batidas com a dupla da RB, e Guanyou Zhou (piloto da casa) ir às lágrimas ao ser ovacionado pela torcida após a prova.

A próxima etapa será o GP de Miami, dias 3,4, e 5 de maio, válido como a 6° etapa do campeonato.
