O holandês Max Verstappen, atual bicampeão mundial, venceu pela segunda vez o Grande Prêmio de Mônaco de Fórmula 1 neste último domingo (28). O piloto da Red Bull liderou a corrida de ponta a ponta, com o espanhol Fernando Alonso chegando em segundo com sua sólida Aston Martin e o francês Estaban Ocon, da Alpine, surpreendendo em terceiro.
A CORRIDA:
A largada do GP foi limpa, e apenas algumas posições se alteraram no pelotão do fundo. Quem largou de pneu médio parou após a volta 30, enquanto aqueles que largaram com pneus duros esperaram pelo menos 20 voltas a mais. Tínhamos uma corrida sem grandes mudanças nas 13 primeiras colocações do grid na primeira hora de prova, mas isso mudou de cara com a chegada da chuva na volta 52 (de 78).
Fernando Alonso foi chamado aos boxes para colocar pneus médios e duas voltas depois foi chamado de volta para colocar os de pista molhada. Apesar disso, a equipe reconheceu que, mesmo uma parada apenas, Alonso não alcançaria a primeira posição, devido a distância que Max tinha na frente.
Com a pista molhada, foi um show de rodadas, escapadas e algumas batidas (mas nada suficiente para a entrada do Safety Car). Kevin Magnussen (Haas) abandonou após bater na Saint Devaut e danificar a asa dianteira, enquanto Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) bateu deixou após bater na Mirabeau e recolher até o pit-lane. Tsunoda vinha bem até ter problemas nos freios e cair para o fim do grid.
As Mercedes, com Lewis Hamilton e George Russel, foi feliz em sua estratégia e salvou um fim de semana ruim com seus pilotos em 4º e 5º lugares. Já a Ferrari, Com Charles Leclerc (largando em 6º após punição) e Carlos Sainz (que patinou na pista molhada) , errou novamente na previsão e parou ambos na mesma volta, o que culminou numa ruim 8ª posição para o espanhol. No fim, Verstappen cruzou com enorme distância na liderança e venceu num GP mais animado que o comum.

Na classificação geral, o holandês soma 144 pontos, contra 105 de seu companheiro de Red Bull, o mexicano Sergio Pérez, que teve um ruim fim de semana largando em último e chegando apenas na 16º posição na corrida deste domingo, com quatro pit stops feitos. Max chegou a 103 pódios na carreira e 39 vitórias, agora ultrapassando Sebastian Vettel como piloto com mais vitórias pela Red Bull Racing.
