Um dos objetivos do prefeito Colbert Martins é que no seu novo mandato, Feira de Santana ganhe uma Superintendência de Esportes, mas enquanto essa situação não se concretiza, o Departamento de Esportes ganhará um novo direcionamento. Esse processo de construção da nova autarquia é uma das missões do professor Emerson Britto, cuja permanência foi confirmada pelo prefeito durante entrevista no CONEXÃO ESPORTIVA sob o comando de Miro Nascimento.
Emerson Britto dirige o Departamento de Esportes do Município desde 2013, quando foi nomeado pelo então prefeito José Ronaldo de Carvalho para substituir o professor Almir Pinto, que na ocasião se desincompatibilizou do cargo por conta do seu processo de aposentadoria como servidor público estadual.
A frente da pasta teve oportunidade de trabalhar na organização de competições de futebol base com a realização de competições Sub-13, Sub-15, além de apoiar outras práticas como o Futebol Feminino, o Futebol Americano que teve a sua primeira partida realizada no Estádio Joia da Princesa. Por sinal, foi na sua gestão que a principal praça esportiva da cidade teve a sua utilização democratizada para diversas práticas esportivas, além do futebol profissional mudando assim a concepção de utilidade do equipamento.
Outro marco importante foi a digitalização do Departamento de Esportes, onde por meio tecnológico passou a monitorar todas as competições realizadas pelo Município, que por sinal este ano havia formatado um calendário esportivo que previa a realização de 45 competições dos mais diversos seguimentos e só não foi posto em prática por conta da pandemia.
O prefeito Colbert Martins reiterou o desejo de transformar o Departamento em uma Superintendência, porém enquanto não acontecer a mudança, a ideia é buscar organizar a estrutura com toda a configuração ligada diretamente ao seu gabinete. “Nós queremos fazer uma junção do esporte com a educação. É importante este atrelamento para que possamos fomentar a prática esportiva nas escolas como sempre aconteceu. Estamos nos organizando e como Emerson é uma pessoa dedicada, um entusiasta de ideias, de novos projetos e desafios, nada mais natural do que ele siga a frente do Departamento com toda a nossa confiança e apoio para o desenvolvimento de novas ações e o fortalecimento das já existentes”, declarou o prefeito Colbert Martins.
