Um tiro de arma de fogo no entorno da Arena Aquática de Salvador, no bairro da Pituba, interrompeu a partida entre Canadá e China, na Copa do Mundo de Polo Aquático Sub-20 Feminino. A situação aconteceu na manhã de domingo (10), durante o primeiro dia do evento. Ninguém ficou ferido.
De acordo com a assessoria do evento, a polícia foi acionada após o furto de uma corrente e disparou tiros para o alto na tentativa de conter o suspeito, que resistiu ao ser preso.
Ainda de acordo com a assessoria, a situação foi rapidamente controlada e as pessoas que estavam no local foram informadas sobre o que aconteceu.
Em um vídeo da transmissão do evento é possível ver o momento em que as jogadoras de Canadá e China deixam a água e deitam na borda da piscina. Também é possível ouvir o som dos disparos.
Essa é a primeira vez que o Brasil recebe o Mundial Sub-20 de Polo Aquático. O evento reúne 16 seleções, entre elas Estados Unidos, Espanha, Croácia e a equipe brasileira. A entrada para assistir aos jogos é gratuita e a competição continua até sábado (16).
