O relator da CPI da Covid, senador Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL), informou neste domingo (6) que enviou aos jogadores e à comissão técnica da seleção brasileira uma nota na qual propõe uma “reflexão” e apresenta argumentos contrários à realização da Copa América de Futebol no Brasil.
Após as desistências dos países organizadores (Argentina e Colômbia), o governo Jair Bolsonaro atendeu a pedidos da Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) e da Confederação Sul-Americana de Futebol (Conmebol) e aceitou receber a competição, prevista para se iniciar no próximo domingo (13), apesar da crise sanitária provocada pela epidemia de Covid, que já fez mais de 470 mil mortos no país.
O capitão da seleção brasileira, o jogador Casemiro, informou que, após a partida da próxima terça-feira (8) contra o Paraguai, em Assunção, pelas eliminatórias da Copa do Mundo, o grupo de jogadores divulgará a posição deles em relação à realização da Copa América. “A seleção é motivo de orgulho. Disputar a Copa pode até gerar troféu. Não disputar, em nome de vidas, significará sua maior conquista. Impossibilitado de apelar ao bom senso do presidente da República e da CBF, enviei nota aos atletas e à comissão técnica”, escreveu Renan Calheiros em uma rede social.
Na nota, o senador lista argumentos “estritamente técnicos, sem qualquer viés político” da equipe técnica da comissão parlamentar de inquérito, contrários à realização da competição no Brasil. “As razões para a realização da Copa América na iminência de uma terceira onda da pandemia no Brasil não correspondem à opção sanitária mais segura para o povo brasileiro”, diz o texto da nota.
ARGUMENTOS
Entre os argumentos, o relator da CPI afirma que
- o número de vacinados no Brasil até a última sexta-feira (4) somente 10,77% do total da população. “Isso coloca o país na posição de número 64 no ranking mundial de vacinação adotando-se o critério percentual da população imunizada/100 mil habitantes”.
- o país tem mais de 470 mil mortos pela pandemia, com média de 2 mil por dia e há risco de colapso nos hospitais. “Estamos vivendo um dos momentos mais críticos da doença, sob o risco concreto de uma terceira onda mais severa e, como constatado, com a população ainda não imunizada em percentuais seguros”.
- há uma tentativa de se forçar a realização da competição, a despeito da crise sanitária. “Temos ciência da divisão existente no Brasil. Alguns setores tentam forçar a realização da Copa América, ou não, como um ato político. Como se a única neutralidade fosse obedecer sem questionar.”
