Conhecido como “Rei do Acesso”, o treinador Paulo Salles terá pela frente a missão de comandar a Associação Desportiva Jequié (ADJ) na 2ª divisão do Campeonato Baiano, que começa no último final de semana de outubro. Conhecedor da competição – com três títulos conquistados – ele garante que esta deve ser a disputa mais difícil dos últimos tempos.
Ao longo da carreira como técnico. Paulo Salles chegou a seis finais, conquistando três títulos, sendo campeão com o Madre de Deus (2008), Juazeirense (2011) e Jequié (2017). Nas outras duas finais, ele foi vice-campeão da competição comandando o Jacobina (2014), Fluminense de Feira (2015) e PFC Cajazeiras (2018). Em 2017 com a ADJ ele ascendeu a elite e agora busca repetir o feito passado na equipe jequieense. “Me honra mais uma vez comandar uma equipe da minha terra natal, numa competição que é mais complicada do que a 1ª divisão porque você não tem maiores incentivos financeiros, não tem cotas de TV e isso complica o investimento dos clubes. Mas a ADJ está imbuída de voltar a elite, a diretoria montou uma boa estrutura e me fez o convite para comandar a equipe e logicamente vamos procurar fazer o melhor para alcançar nossos objetivos”, afirmou.
O time está trabalhando desde a semana passada na expectativa de uma da 2ª divisão mais complicada dos últimos tempos, na visão do técnico Salles. “Mesmo com as dificuldades causadas pela pandemia, nós temos equipes calcadas em projetos consistentes como é o caso da Unirb, do Canaã, do Colo-Colo em parceria com o Doce Mel, do Barcelona com seu planejamento arrojado e apenas uma vaga para o campeão chegar à elite. Será a Série B mais difícil dos últimos tempos por conta do equilíbrio dos times”, analisa.
Um fator que pode pesar contra o Jequié é a falta do torcedor no estádio. “É complicado porque nossa torcida é apaixonada e com certeza nos jogos é mais um elemento a nosso favor. Temos que nos adaptar a esta situação e trabalhar, trabalhar muito para superar esta ausência e lutar por nossos objetivos”, afirmou Paulo Salles.
